AN OPEN LETTER TO HON:US-AMBASSADOR: ROBERT BLAKE, IN SRILANKA!

DEAR HON.AMBASSADOR: ROBERT BLAKE !

I have read your interview recently on SL-newspaper and am very glad that you are involving and talking in the affairs of the internal matters as the situation becomes very serious and critical to all humanbeings in Srilanka. But you failed to study the history of Tamil sufferings in the name of unity and integrity.

Unity and Intergrity of a family or nation should come from the basic values of human rights, respect to each others need,feelings,care,safety as well as equality, justice, truth,freedom, stablity, peace and harmony!But unfortunately , Tamil speaking people have gone through a lot of intimidations, pogroms, massacres, kidnappings, killings,aerial-bombings, artillery shellings, disappearances, arrests, physical,verbal and mental abuses even now. It started after independance from the 450 years of brutal european colonial rule!

Tamil people are very hard working, friendly, flexible, hospitable, truthfull, tolerant, kind, patient, non-aggressive, non-arrogant and sincere people who believed in Mahatma Gandhi's policies and supported Mr.Samuel James Veluppillai Chelvanayagam,QC, a well respected Tamil Christian leader due to his honesty,loyalty,truthfullness as well as non-violence.

He made an agreement with P.M./SL: SWRD.Badaranayake/SLFP in 1956 called Banda-Chelva pact,but due to violent protests by Sinhala Buddhist monks PM had thrown that in dustbin. This is the same story again and again to Dudly-Chelva pact,Indo-Lanka pact,SIHRN,NEDF, and ISCA, P-Tomps etc etc! Why? Their words and actions were not the same! All the provinces got CMs,and enough funding except NESL after 1987 indo-lanka pact.There were lots of excuses to avoid tourists, devt-help etc etc.After many failures of successive Sinhala governments to implement something viable and useful political solution, Tamil people lost the hope from any leaders!

Due to all neglects of political solution and pogroms/massacres/destruction of properties/HSZ/ SOZ /food-medicine embargo, tamil people lost the hope of any solidarity from Sinhala Govts.
97% of Tamil people express their willingness through opinion poll(NPC) that they need dialogue and political solution rather than military solution. But GOSL/MR is not willing to accept that.

So we hope that you can advice GOSL/MR to conduct a referendum by UN/SC in the NESL to listen to the voice of the people of NESL, like in KOSOVO under the supervision of UN. If not GOSL can declare unilateral peace/CF and send a delegation to Vanni for talks with LTTE/ TNA. Political wing/LTTE has expressed their willingness for political solution through dialogue.
So we can save lots of innocent lives from both sides! and walk towards unity and progress!
I hope you will answer my request by replying this open letter! Better Late than Never!
