சுமித்குமார் கஜன் தர்மசீலன் ஆகிய யாழ்ப்பாணத்தை சொந்த இடமாக கொண்ட மூன்று பேரே இவ்வாறு படகு மூலம் தமிழ்நாட்டை சென்றடைந்தனர். தமிழ்நாட்டு காவல்துறையினரின் விசாரணைகளின் பின்னர் இவர்கள் மண்டபம் முகாமுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

சிறிலங்கா இராணுவத்தினரின் தாங்க முடியாத சித்திரவதைகள் காரணமாகவே தாம் தப்பியோடி வந்துள்ளதாகவும், அனைத்து வகையான சித்திரவதைகளையும் தடுத்துவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளவர்கள் மீது மேற்கொண்டுவருவதாகவும் அவர்கள் தகவல் வெளியிட்டனர்.

இவ்வாறு சிறிலங்கா இராணுவத்தினரின் சித்திரவதைகள் இன்றுவரை தொடர்ந்துகொண்டிருப்பது தமிழ் சமூகத்திற்கும் பெரும் அச்ச உணர்வை தோற்றுவித்துள்ளது. தற்போதும் இரகசிய தடுப்புமுகாமில் 12500 தமிழ் மக்களும் போராளிகளும் தடுத்துவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நிலையில் அவர்களுடைய நிலை தொடர்பாக அவர்களது உறவினர்கள் கவலை வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர்.

Three Sri Lankan Tamils Arrive in TN Seeking Refuge

In the first such incident after the end of the war between Sri Lankan Army and LTTE last year, three Lankan Tamils arrived here today seeking refuge, alleging 'torture' by the island security forces, police said.

Sumit Kumar, Gajan and Dharmaseelan of Jaffna District, who arrived by a boat, were sent to the Mandapam refugee camp after interrogation by the Q Branch Police of Tamil Nadu, which deals with extremist elements.

The trio had earlier come here as refugees in 2006 and returned to Sri Lanka in 2008.

Q Branch Police sources quoted the three as saying that they were coming back to India "unable to bear the torture by Sri Lankan Army personnel. They resort to all types of human rights violations, including torture and illegal detention."

This was the first time Sri Lankan Tamils had arrived after the war ended in May last year with the defeat of the LTTE, the sources said.

Over one lakh Sri Lankan refugees, who arrived over a period of time during the Lanka-LTTE conflict period, were living in different parts of the state including in 150 refugee camps.
