Defence Secretary Nandasena Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had issued the directive to assassinate the leader of the Frontline Socialist Party, Premakumar Gunaratnam also known as Kumar Mahaththaya, about four months ago, sources from the Defence Ministry told Lanka News Web.
The Defence Secretary had issued the directive to his unit of assassins to keep a close watch on the activists of the Movement for People’s Struggle some time back and to carry out his orders before Kumar Mahaththaya enters politics publicly after being made the leader of the Frontline Socialist Party.
Premakumar Gunaratnam alias Kumar Mahaththaya was abducted on the 6th due to the directive.
The abduction had been carried out by a special unit set up by the Director of the CID, SSP Mahesh Perera and Senior DIG Anura Senanayake has been assigned the task of taking future actions against Kumar Mahaththaya.
Defence Secretary Nandasena Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has addressed the media today and said, “We cannot allow Australians to play hell in this country” and had tried to justify his murderous order.
