The government continues to establish Sinhala colonies in the North and Sinhalese persons are being settled in areas under the Neluntheni Divisional Secretariat in Vavuniya.

TNA parliamentarian Shivashakthi Anandan says that these persons have been settled in the Kokkadivankulam area in Neluntheni without even informing the Vavuniya District Secretariat and the village has been given a Sinhala name.

He said the matter had been raised in parliament as well as during the discussions between the government and the TNA, but the government has not made any comment about the matter.

He added that most of the lands belonging to the Northern people have been acquired by the security forces.
