TNA parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran told Lanka News Web that he and his party was of the view that the government should allow the special Indian envoy scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to witness the plight of the displaced people and the resettlement programme in the North without any interference.

He said that it is already learnt that the government was planning on showing only a selected number of displaced camps and if the government interferes in such a manner, it would be difficult to understand the real situation of the displaced people.

He further noted that it was his party’s stance that the special envoy’s visit to Sri Lanka and his work should be

planned by the Indian High Commission in Colombo.
