Even the intelligent people who voted for the "beetle leaf'' accept that the Presidential election was rigged. In any case all elections within the bourgeoisie system are frauds; but we participate to educate the masses and to get elected if possible. Under the obstinate Bonpartist ruler Mahinda, the election has become not only corrupt but also violent. Even the election commissioner is tired of trying to hold free elections. We know he cannot be independent. In fact government is holding him by the collar. He admitted that he is saving his life and the job with difficulty. True, he changed what he said after the presidential election results were out. But it is not possible to erase what he said on that day. Even that is enough to confirm that election was a fraud. However in this parliamentary election it is not easy to play the same game. On the other hand as this reactionary capitalist regime does not care for justice, fair play and democracy, suppresses fundamental election rights of the people, and disregards good governance, difficulties of the masses etc, even this parliamentary election could be trampled by them.

Nevertheless the people, the opposition, observers, civil rights organisations have a national responsibility. It is bad for the people to boycott elections merely because it is corrupt. Then it may become an indirect help to the government. Hence it is important for the masses to vote. We won universal franchise through a struggle. It is the duty of the masses to vote against this corrupt, dictatorial regime. Mahinda wants to continue by hypnotizing the people with military chauvinism. Workers, media personnel and students are suppressed by this method. We are completely against this military chauvinist madness.

These leaders have demolished and sold the country to Multi National Companies of the global bourgeoisie. Also they conduct fraudulent elections disregarding misery of the people. We must chase out these rulers. Their claim of liberating the country is a load of rubbish. These rulers who betray the country and the people, disregard the economic misery of the people, promote nepotism could be chased out by voting for our symbol umbrella. This is a national duty.
