We could hear fierce fighting going on, We continuously hear the sounds of shells exploding everywhere and bullets whizzing over our bunker. We are scared to go out. People also scared to move from one place to another.

More than 2000 injured are in this area, in the hospital and in the village. For the last three days we are trying to send the patients to other hospitals, ICRC ferry came all three days but did not receive the green signal to reach the shore and returned back. Patients are staying both is hospitals and in their shelters. We are unable to provide any treatment; we all are inside the bunkers.

Shells are coming close to hospital; three to four of our staffs were killed within the last three days. These three days we didn’t treat the patients. Wounded are dying without treatment. Both wounded and dead are in the same place, still they are not separated. Around 300 to 400 patients and dead bodies are mingled lying here and there on the floor. We are not in a position remove the dead bodies and bury. Bodies getting decomposed and bad odour coming out, patients are severely inconvenienced. But we cannot do anything.

We and our staff are not able to cook and eat even. The villagers were given very meagre rations, for a week this village need 400 MT food but we received only 60 MT. People are starving without enough food. The food supply had only rice, dhal, sugar and oil. We cannot have even a cup of tea, lea leaves are not available. The children and expectant mothers are malnourished without proper food in adequate quantity. Vegetables and fruits are not available at all. People are just boiling the dhal in water and eating with rice.

I cannot express these people’s difficulties in words. Many injured cannot be brought to the hospital, due to terrible shelling going in the area. People who come here say that injured are lying everywhere. We cannot go out; thick smoke is seen outside our bunker. I think shells have hit something and it is burning, must be within 250 metre from here.

From yesterday night we hear sounds very close to our place, I think around 200 to 300 metres from here fight is going. We cannot say anything about our life, we do not know whether we will die while talk to you now or tomorrow, or we will survive. We are in a very disastrous situation, anytime we can die, not only we that is the fate of most of the people here. We cannot put our head out, shells are whizzing over the bunker, and shells are exploding close by.

My personal opinion is this war should stop now; hospital must be made to function so that we can treat patients from here. Humanitarian assistance, food and other facilities should be made available for the people living here. International community has to do this and government should facilitate this. ICRC has to send the ship immediately to evacuate the patients for further treatment, this is our request.
We spoke to ICRC they came here but they said they did not get the green signal to come to shore. We informed them that many injured are dying without treatment and daily many hundreds are getting injured. Today morning also we informed our additional government agent and through her to ICRC. We have asked them to assure the safety of ours, other health staffs and patients life. The whole hospital function has come to a halt due to shell attack.

We and the people here are thankful to the Tamil Diaspora for all the support. Tamil Diaspora should continue to support us to reach the humanitarian assistance.

I am only here in this bunker, others are in different bunkers. We did not switch on the generator from yesterday. My phone batter charge is going down, anytime it will shut down.

Our many thanks to you Dr Varatharajah for revealing the ongoing saga. We are watching on TV and listening to your reports telecasted and circulated via mails from friends and family.

These episodes are making our Tamil generations in sombre mood around the world, why our kith and kin are preordained by Sinhala scamps?

Today's news is distressing, our race is being extint in the twinkling of an eye. India has rejected US navy help to free the innocents. Very worrying..... situation.

WE ARE DOING PROTESTS, RALLIES, COMMENTS, TALKS... FASTING TILL DEATH.... IN KIND..

WORLD IS NOT LISTENING... OUR MOST WANTED HELP INSTANTLY US INVASION IN NORTH WEST OF SRI LANKA.

At this life-and-death time president has left the country he is serving very patriotically...

He and his brothers are objects of laughingstock...

They are fooling around ...like cat and dog...

God be with our Tamil people.
