Japan grants US$ 4 million
The Japan has decided to provide aid to the tune of US$ 4 million (approx. rupees 480 million) to meet the immediate needs of the Internally Displaced Persons in the North.
The Japanese embassy in Colombo said the aid would be given to Sri Lanka through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
