PMK: INDIA SHOULD NOT HELP SRILANKA IN KILLING TAMIL PEOPLE!!!

'Do not evacuate civilians from war zone without ceasefire'

Chennai , Mar 10 Opposing any move by India to evacuate civilians in the war zone in Sri Lanka without a ceasefire between LTTE and the Army, PMK founder S Ramadoss today said India should not "directly or indirectly" help Sri Lanka in the "killing of Tamils" in the island nation.
In a statement here, Ramadoss alleged that Colombo was "intent" on annihilating the Tamil race in Sri Lanka and was using arms and other equipment given by nations like Pakistan and China.

Ramadoss, whose party is a constituent of the ruling UPA and which has representation in the union cabinet, said the Centre should" respect the feelings" of Tamils on this matter.

" India should possess the resolve and guts of the late Indira Gandhi to ensure the welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils," he said. India should not "fall prey" to Colombo on the insistence on evacuating civilians from conflict areas, he said, adding if troops were sent to evacuate them before the ceasfire, it would not bear fruit, just like what happened to US troops in Somalia.
