Students reported missing with Jaffna HRC

Parents of a 16-year-old student from Kachchaai Veethi in Thenmaraadchi lodged a complaint with Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office that their son had gone missing since Sunday after leaving home. Meanwhile, the father of a Jaffna student studying in Colombo complained to Jaffna HRC that his son had gone missing since he went to register his name with Galikisse police on 4 January.
The student gone missing from Thenmaraadchi is Nagaraja Nirojanan, an A/level student in one of the schools in Thenmaraadchi.
The student reported missing in Colombo is Poobalasingam Jay Prasanth, 21, a native of Karaveddi West, staying in Pamankade Lane in Wellawathe, Colombo.
Jay Prasanth was following higher studies in Colombo and had not returned home after reporting at Galkisse police station to register his name.
Poobalasingam, the complainant, said that he was informed by relatives in Wellawathe about his son gone missing.
His son may be detained at Galkisse police station according to other sources in Colombo, Poobalasingam said in his complaint.
